Main Responsibilities:


The Digital Performance Manager will have to demonstrate the ability to execute successful projects and deliverables of paid search disciplines across verticals and service platforms. This position plays an integral role in leading the development and growth of the performance marketing team as well as providing project expertise to stakeholders, partners and other external audiences.


  • Responsible for operational success of accounts and ensuring deliverables are successfully met on time and on budget

  • Owns all outcomes; effectively prioritizes efforts to focus on delivering results

  • Plans, manages and executes Paid Search/Social campaigns, including but not limited to strategy development, account management and hands on operations

  • Excels in account operations: Must be proficient in end-to-end campaign set-up, management, optimization, and performance reporting methods across platforms.

  • Audits, reviews and analyzes reports, lead optimization efforts to meet campaign objectives and performance

  • Assist Account Supervisor & Channel Owners with knowledge development and recommendations to develop and deliver a clear strategic vision

  • Monitor and administer web analytics dashboards, reports and key reporting tools, and point out key areas of importance in accordance to venture goals.

  • Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across the major search channels.

  • Monitor and evaluate paid social performance across key accounts

  • Functionally manage a team of Paid Marketing resources located across Africa.

  • Leads by example and acts as a mentor to more junior team members

  • Acts as a point of contact for Paid Search and Paid Social initiatives and is responsive to all requests and inquiries

  • Explores opportunities with particular emphasis on innovative cost efficient initiatives.

  • Works collaboratively to translate strategic vision into tactical solutions and results

  • Consistently looks for ways to improve current processes or introduce new approaches that will contribute to Jumia’s success





 Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Mastery of Google Advertising Products - Adwords, YouTube, UAC and Google Display Network

  • Mastery of Paid Social Products: Facebook Ads, Instagram & Twitter Ads and experience working in platforms: Smartly, Adjust, MakeMeReach or similar solutions. 

  • Experience in Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Paid Search (PPC) (3+ years) – e-commerce or travel background preferred.

  • Experience in managing large scale, complex paid search/PPC campaigns and strategies: Should be able to provide examples of campaign planning processes including channel selection, ideal creative formats, flighting and budget weighting.

  • Experience building and managing relationships with ad sales reps and managers across the ecosystem.

  • Strong analytical skills; must be proficient in analyzing and interpreting social-related data from native platform analytics, standard software packages and client databases.

  • Mastery of MS Excel; Knowledge of Google Apps + Google Apps Script is a plus.

  • Strong organizational skills, detailed orientation and project management ability.

  • Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Google Analytics as well as internal reporting tools.

  • Technical understanding of digital performance marketing i.e. bought, owned and earned products and services such as Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social Media Management and Display Marketing.

  • Google Certified (Fundamentals), Analytics and Adword is a big plus.
