Associate Director, Pricing & Discounts Strategy

We are looking for an analytically grounded manager to build the pricing function within the organization. As Associate Director of Pricing Strategy, you will be in charge of re-designing the architecture of price and discounts across brands of the HelloFresh group to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability. To inform this vision, you will establish analytical approaches such as competitive benchmarking, financial and econometric modeling, and A/B testing. You will also identify and secure resources to make this new function best-in-class in alignment with HelloFresh mission and overall culture.


This role reports to our VP Data, and collaborate closely with our CEO and the leadership of growth marketing, data analytics, and technology organizations.


You Will...



  • Building a high-profile and high-impact function from the ground up within a market leader in D2C space

  • Develop frameworks, including but not limited to reports, processes, and analytical approaches to address price discrimination opportunities. Coordinate the execution of these action plans across the various pertinent functional areas.

  • Organize and chair periodic cross-functional reviews on the efficacy of the pricing strategy for each brand of the HelloFresh group

  • Be the key stakeholder for Marketing Tech to determine digital product feature requirements (e.g., voucher engine)

  • Report to the company executive leadership, translating directional feedback from internal and external executives into tangible next steps and outputs.

  • Collaborate with analytics teams, finance, and marketing to develop a consistent approach to measure the impact of discounts with regards to gross and net revenue, short- and long-term (customer) profitability, and cross-effects to Marketing budgets

  • Continuously innovate our price and discount structure to constantly generate an uplift vs competition

  • Define strategic guard rails to position and differentiate our various brands; distill operational tactics within those strategic guidelines to maximize overall customer lifetime value

  • Lead the recruitment and development of your team


You Have...



  • MSc in Business, Economics, Math or other quantitative discipline required
    5+ years of professional work experience with experience in pricing strategy, retail and strategic management consulting, and/or analytics

  • Extensive experience devising and measuring the effectiveness of pricing strategies (including A/B testing), with a proven track record from other data-rich business environments

  • Outstanding written and oral communicator with proven ability to connect with business partners and senior executives

  • Executive presence and diplomatic skills to foster essential cross-functional alignment and drive transformational roadmaps

  • Able to effectively manage multiple projects under tight time pressures

  • Takes work seriously, but not themselves. Confident yet humble. Enjoys hearing diverse perspectives on a problem and bringing groups together to agree on the best possible solution
